What is TL?
According to Sheila Frick, OTR and creator of TL, Therapeutic Listening (TL) is "...a sound-based intervention that is embedded in the sensory integration perspective. It has evolved from clinical work built on a foundation of developmental and neurological principles."
The electronically modified music utilized in TL provides the listener with specific, unique, and precisely controlled sensory information.
This music, as well as a variety of movement activities that are designed to elicit an adaptive response, facilitates the nervous system and body "...for emergent skills and has been found to decrease the time necessary to meet treatment goals."
What are the benefits of TL?
Due to the strong impact on sub-cortical processing of sensorimotor function, TL can be effective for a variety of occupations, including but not limited to:
Basic Arousal, Sensory Modulation, Praxis. Attention, and Academic Performance
